Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports
Positive Behavior Intervention & Supports (PBIS) is part of the Oregon School District's Multi-Level Systems of Support Model that addresses academic, social/emotional, behavioral, and mental health wellness needs of students.
Brooklyn Elementary focuses on students and staff working to be their best each day in all environments.
At BKE we have multi-age groups led by staff members to explicitly teach our expected behaviors - the Brooklyn B's. We use bi-monthly lessons in these groups to teach our core values. To support these lessons, we have student leaders and staff create videos, newscasts, posters and announcements to enhance our teaching.
Each month we focus on a selected theme and applaud our success through assemblies, programs and special events. Students and staff, alike, are proud of the positive attributes that we celebrate as a team.
