Dyslexia Information

Dyslexia is a learning difference that some people have. It can make reading and spelling difficult because the brain processes letters and sounds differently. It's important to know that dyslexia is not about how smart someone is, but rather how their brain works.

Dyslexia Guidebook

Wisconsin Act 86 (2019) requires the Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction (DPI) to develop, publish, and regularly review an informational guidebook on dyslexia and related conditions. In accordance with Act 86, the guidebook addresses screening, instruction and intervention, and resources to support improved learning outcomes for students with characteristics of dyslexia and related conditions. School districts are also required to provide a link to the guidebook on their websites.
